In general you can just post things on the community promotion ad thread (as long as they're in the proper format), you don't need to solicit comments or improvements. Though for what it's worth, I think it'd be fine as is. (Making the subtext a solid color would be an improvement) | |

You would have to get permission from the higher-ups to use it. Here "permission" may have to take the form of a legal contract, so I'm not sure it's worth it. You could use a different picture of the Higgs potential if you like, but I don't think it's necessary because a community promotion ad is supposed to promote the actual (external) thing the ad is for, not so much its connection with SE. | |
