May 4, 2015 at 15:14 comment added David Z Mod For what it's worth, sometimes questions you think are stupid aren't actually stupid. So I'm not such a fan of downvoting the kinds of questions that people usually call stupid questions. For me downvoting is best used to mark either questions that show a complete lack of effort on the part of the asker, or questions that are far beyond the asker's level of education, to the point where we can't give them a meaningful answer that will be useful to them. (That latter criterion is kind of hard to describe)
